Details of Special General Meeting
The Special General Meeting will be held on Monday 9 October 2023 in the Terrace Room at the Adelaide Pavilion on the corner of South Terrace and Peacock Road, Adelaide. The meeting will commence at 10:30am and is expected to conclude by 11:30am.
The venue will be open from 10:00am for registration. Tea and coffee will be available upon arrival, and parking is available at the venue.
Main Order of Business
The main order of business at the meeting will be the resolution to adopt a new Constitution:
“That the existing Rules of the Association be revoked and replaced by the form of Rules submitted to the Meeting and signed by the Chairperson for identification."
COTA SA is looking to change its Membership model. These changes require us to amend our Constitution. Concurrently, COTA SA is also taking this opportunity to include clauses that address the appointment of Board members and their terms of office. Many of these issues are not reflected in our current Constitution.
Available for review are:
- The proposed new Constitution
- An explanatory document about why we are making changes to our Constitution
- A summary of the main changes and amendments, identifying the clauses to which they relate
As a separate process, we look forward to communicating directly with each of our members to explain what the change in membership means for you. This communication will occur at the time your membership is due for renewal.
To assist us with our planning, members who intend to attend this meeting are invited to register at Eventbrite or by phoning us on 08 8232 0422.
Nominating a Proxy
Members who are unable to attend the meeting may give written notice nominating a proxy to attend and vote on their behalf. To nominate a proxy please email email@example.com providing the name and contact information for your proxy, so that they may be formally registered.
