Thank you to everyone who joined us for our 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM). We were delighted today to share our COTA SA 2025 year in review in which we share the ways we have made a difference and been here for older South Australians in the past year.
As the peak body representing the rights, interests and futures of more than 700,000 South Australians aged 50+, COTA SA engages with older people from all walks of life across the state to understand your experiences, priorities and aspirations. This deep engagement ensures we can advocate to governments and decision-makers for policies that reflect your real and diverse needs. In our 2025 Year in Review, you’ll read more about how we have made a difference this year, including:
- Being one of only two expert witnesses focused on older people to give evidence to the Royal Commission into Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence, helping ensure the experiences of older victim-survivors informed the Commission’s lived experience recommendations.
- Hosted 250 older South Australians at our annual International Day of Older Persons celebration, featuring reflections from Natasha Stott Despoja AO on the theme of Ageing in public (and private) life.
- Continued our advocacy for free ambulance services for South Australians on the full Age Pension, securing strong media coverage ahead of the State Budget and elevating public awareness of the need for reform.
- Relaunching our Strength for Life program with refreshed branding, a new website and an expanded range of programs, building on its 21-year history and offering older South Australians more choice than ever to stay strong and active.
