Congratulations to the South Australians of the Year for 2024 who were announced last week; these remarkable people will go on to represent South Australia at the national awards in January.

COTA SA’s Chief Executive, Miranda Starke, was honoured to be a part of this year’s selection panel for the South Australian of the Year Awards.

The Senior of the Year award, and all its nominees, highlights the ongoing achievements and contributions made to our state by older South Australians. We would therefore like to take this opportunity to congratulate Senior Australian of the Year, Sister Meredith Evans, who has dedicated her life to helping the vulnerable and inspiring others to do the same.

We are also pleased to congratulate Tim Jarvis AM, environmental scientist and advocate, for being named the 2024 South Australian of the Year. Recently, Tim joined us at our 2023 International Day of the Older Persons event where he inspired our attendees to reimagine ageing with purpose. Thank you, Tim, for your passion and contribution to our community.
