Registration is open now for COTA SA's special International Day of Older Persons celebration, held on Wednesday 30 September as part of South Australia's Week of Ageing Well and opened by the Minister for Seniors and Ageing Well, The Hon Katrine Hildyard MP.
Hear from older South Australians who have faced some of life's biggest transitions and emerged stronger, more connected, and with a renewed sense of purpose. Through a series of short, engaging talks, speakers will share personal reflections on loss, caregiving, retirement, family responsibilities, new love and personal reinvention, demonstrating that ageing well can take many different forms, and everyone’s journey is unique.
Carefully selected for their relatable and inspiring stories, these speakers will offer our audience something powerful: their lived experience. They have experienced life’s ups and downs, adapted to change, given back to their communities, and found ways to create meaningful, connected and fulfilling lives, on their own terms.
This free community event embodies everything that COTA SA is about – it is an opportunity to challenge ageism, celebrate older South Australians and ensure they feel heard, valued and seen. Enjoy morning tea, connect with others, and take part in an interactive workshop that will help you reflect on what matters most and identify practical actions to support your own ageing journey.
At IDOP, you will be inspired by people like you. Discover new perspectives, make genuine connections, and leave with inspiration and confidence to support your own ageing journey.
