We know that there are many older people who use a personal alert device so that loved ones and carers can be alerted in an emergency. Some of these devices rely on the 3G network for connectivity. The 3G network is in the process of being phased out in favour of the 4G network, and this will take place by 30 June 2024.
This means that, if you or a loved one is using a 3G personal alert device, you will need to review your options and make a decision about changing your device.
Our Let’s Talk Aged Care team recommends connecting with Catalyst Foundation’s Independent Living Centre information service, as a great source of free, trusted, and independent advice about your options. For more information contact 1800 445 272 or visit Independent Living Centre SA
