2026 Federal Budget: We want to hear from you

13 May 26

With the Federal Budget is handed down last night, cost‑of‑living pressures remain a major concern for older Australians.

The budget campaign has focused on “intergenerational fairness” but it’s important to recognise that not all older people are financially secure.

Through our engagement with older South Australians, we know that a growing number of older people are struggling with the cost of living and are counting every dollar, particularly as housing, healthcare and everyday costs continue to rise.

While the Federal Budget may ease some of these pressures, it will not address every challenge or reach everyone who needs support. Understanding where measures help, and where gaps remain, is an important part of the conversation.

The Federal Budget affects older Australians in many ways, and we want to understand how it affects you.

If you're 50 or over, please take a few minutes to share your thoughts. Will the budget make a difference in your life?

Your insights help us advocate for what matters to older Australians.

The Federal Budget 2026 survey closes at midnight on Sunday 17 May.
