The Silver Rainbow - Community of Practice
In 2023 COTA SA’s Rainbow Hub was awarded a Fay Fuller Foundation Spark Grant, to explore the impact of unexpected changes on LGBTI+ elders’ emotional wellbeing, such as sudden ill health or loss of a partner. The project is called The Rainbow Dog and now, nearly twelve months on, we’d like to share some of our early findings.
The Rainbow Dog Team have gathered stories from LGBTI+ elders about the impact of these events on them, their partners/families and/or their friends and have explored what has happened as a result, what helped, what got in the way and what could have helped them get through this traumatic time.
The project is far from finished but we’d like our Community of Practice attendees to be the first to hear - and discuss - what we've discovered…
