Celebrating International Day of Older Persons 2024
On 1 October we celebrate the 2024 International Day of Older Persons (IDOP). Join us at our free, intergenerational, celebration, our theme this year is meaningful connections at every age and we're pleased to share that this year's keynote speaker will be Geraldine Doogue AO.
Acknowledging that positive relationships and social connections are essential pillars of living well at every age, we are bringing together a diverse group of speakers to reflect on the importance of the intergenerational relationships in their lives and consider how we can do more both individually and as a society to strengthen social connection across generations - for everyone’s benefit.
Keynote speaker: Award-winning, respected Australian journalist, Geraldine Doogue AO, currently co-presenter on ABC Radio National’s Global Roaming. Geraldine is a renowned Australian journalist and broadcaster much respected for her work reporting on religious and social affairs and on Australia’s place in the world.
