Project update: Guiding Principles for Creating Meaningful Social Connections

COTA SA’s The Plug-in, supported by Office for Ageing Well and Wellbeing SA, undertook a project exploring the experiences of older people making social connections.

The insights and experiences shared by older South Australians and community organisations have been collated and used to develop a set of ‘guiding principles’ to support older people to make meaningful social connections. You can read more about the project and look at the guide here.

Project update: Video report of our findings from Navigating Change research

The Plug-in has also been supported by Office for Ageing Well and Wellbeing SA to undertake a project exploring the ways in which older South Australians successfully navigate major changes, including events such as bushfires and floods, local economic changes, technological shifts, and the impacts of COVID-19.

We have developed a video report for people who took part or who may be interested to hear about what our participants felt helped them to successfully navigate change events. You can read more about the project and watch the video here.

Results: COTA SA Communications Survey

Thank you to all who gave their feedback in our most recent e-news survey!

A total of 206 people completed our short survey to tell us about the types of information that they would like to hear about from COTA SA. The highest ranking topics of interest for respondents were educational information (87%) or news stories (83%) that affect older South Australians. The most preferred ways of bringing you this information were email newsletters (92%), but many also would like print media (38%).

We look forward to being able to continue to improve the ways that COTA SA provides information and make sure that it is relevant to you.
