New Year Message from the Chief Executive

3 January 24

Happy new year! On behalf of the team at COTA SA I wish you a 2024 filled with possibility, opportunity and influence!

We look forward to another full year of advocacy, events, and delivering programs and services to ensure that all South Australians have the opportunity to age well, unhindered by ageism.

Thank you for your feedback throughout 2023 which shaped our work on priorities for older South Australians including the cost of living, housing security, energy prices, climate change, building age friendly communities, accessing the aged care system, and much more. We look forward to your continued input on these and other important topics through 2024.

Already this year, we are working across a huge diversity of issues that make a difference to the lives of older South Australians, including continuing to advocate for better regional transport, focusing on digital inclusion and connectivity, and exploring domestic and family violence as it affects older women. As always, we will continue to challenge ageism, which we see as the greatest barrier to South Australians ageing well.

Your thoughts, ideas and stories are very important to us and we look forward to connecting with you by phone, email and in person at events such as our Conversations in the City, and Conversations with Salisbury Seniors and through our regional advisory groups on the Yorke Peninsula, at Victor Harbor and through our Rainbow Hub lunches and events for LGBTI+ older people.

Sign up for our enews at the bottom of the page, become a Member, or phone us on 08 8232 0422 to stay informed of all these opportunities through the year.

What are your hopes and priorities for 2024? We’d love to hear from you.
