The team at COTA SA were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Cris Davis who will be greatly missed not only by her family and friends but by the wider older South Australian LGBTI community for whom she was a passionate advocate.

In particular, we will remember Cris for her strong leadership in her role as the inaugural Chair of the COTA SA Rainbow Hub Advisory Group and for her determination to make a difference in the lives of LGBTI older people which was unrivalled and made possible the establishment of the Rainbow Hub SA as its own incorporated association in recent months.

Cris had also been a COTA SA casual staff member until June this year, working on range of projects to improve awareness and understanding of the needs and preferences of LGBTI elders in aged care facilities, in relation to human rights, consumer rights, end of life care, and mental health. Cris’s involvement with COTA SA was impressive and she has left a true legacy.
