Thank you to everyone who joined us for our 2024 Annual General Meeting (AGM) which featured our guest speaker, The Right Honourable, the Lord Mayor Dr Jane Lomax-Smith AM who shared various plans that are in motion to ensure that the City of Adelaide is hospitable and accessible now and in the future. She also shared that:
"The demographics of our city don't do justice to the fact it is the best place to live if you are mature... if you want a short walk to the shops, want to be able to get to the cinema, theatre, doctors, the hospital, radiology clinics, everything within easy walking distance, this is the best place to live in the world."
This year, more than ever, our work has been driven by a firm focus on delivering on our core purpose of advancing the rights, futures and interests of older South Australians - and working strategically and sustainably to achieve this. This was reflected on in the formal proceedings where COTA SA Chief Executive Miranda Starke, delivered the Chief Executive's report, President Anne Edwards AO delivered the President's report and Chair of our Finance and Audit Committee, John Lipkiewicz delivered the annual financial report followed by an opportunity for questions.
The achievements discussed at our AGM could not happen without the efforts of COTA SA’s people: our passionate and skills-based Board, our values-driven staff and volunteers, our Patrons, and our funding partners, supporters and sponsors who support us and recognise the value of the work that we do.
