Strength for Life - Move in May

This month we're challenging Strength for Life participants and other older South Australians to Move in May.

Whether you are regularly physically active at home and looking to mix things up a bit or you're seeking inspiration to move more, the Strength for Life Move in May Challenge is for you.

Participants are encouraged to register for the Challenge and exercise to a minimum of three Strength for Life Healthy Living Videos during the week beginning Monday 25 May 2020.

How does the Challenge work?

Participants are encouraged to view and exercise to the Strength for Life Healthy Living Videos leading up to the Challenge to familiarise yourself with the exercises and move more in May.

On Monday 25 May participants can choose either a gentle warm-up and cool down or for those looking to exercise a little harder consider the advanced warm-up and cool down, then choose to exercise to a minimum of 1 of the following videos:

  1. Exercise at your Desk

  2. Home Exercise with Weights

  3. Home Exercises for Balance

  4. Home Exercise with Resistance

All participants who register and complete the Challenge will go in the draw to win one of five Strength for Life prize packs valued at over $250:

  • 1 COTA SFL drink Bottle
  • 1 COTA SFL hand towel
  • 1 free SFL assessment (or reassessment if already a SFL member)
  • 10 free SFL sessions.

How do you get involved?

  1. Participants are encouraged to register via the Move in May Registration Form. Registrations will remain open until 4pm on Friday 29 May 2020.

  2. Participants are asked to watch the 2 minute introductory video prior to commencing the Strength for Life Healthy Living Videos.

  3. Choose a gentle or advance warm-up and cool down, and a minimum of 1 of the 4 exercise videos at home or at your desk during the week beginning Monday 25 May ending Friday 29 May 2020.

  4. Keep your eye out for the motivational messages from the Strength for Life team at COTA SA between Monday 25 May and Friday 29 May 2020 and be one of the thousands of older people exercising to the Strength for Life Healthy Living Videos.

  5. Encourage your friends and family to register for the Strength for Life Move in May Challenge and check in on their progress throughout the day.
