Aged Care Navigators Trial arrives in the South East
Older South Australians living in the state’s South East who are finding it difficult to navigate the aged care system now have access to a new support system as part of the newAged Care Navigators Trial project.
Announced in February by Minister for Aged Care, the Hon Ken Wyatt, the trial will see information hubs and specialist support workers provide personalised support to vulnerable older members of the community across the country, and COTA SA is charged with delivering the service in the South East.
Helen Morley, who is available to assist people immediately in her role as Specialist Support Worker for the region, said the trial was an important step towards making the currently complicated aged care system more accessible, particularly for vulnerable members of the community.
