COTA SA saddened by loss of Marj Tripp AO
South Australia lost one of its most important leaders, Marj Tripp AO.
Marj was a Ramindjeri elder, who has been a big part of most, if not all, of the major initiatives for older Aboriginal people in SA for about 40 years including the establishing the Council of Aboriginal Elders, paving the way for advocacy services for older Aboriginal people, and developing Aboriginal aged care services throughout SA. She was also instrumental in achieving recognition for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander war veterans and in the building of the memorial for them at the Torrens Parade grounds. Marj's legacy to older people is enormous and COTA SA salutes her.
