COTA SA arts workshops for older people... reflecting the beauty of nature in the City of Adelaide

Come along to Natura Petri, COTA SA's contribution to the inaugural Nature Festival and enjoy our free, hands-on art-making workshops culminating in a collective artwork. No experience is necessary!

In the Natura Petri workshops you will create your very own micro expression of the beauty in nature in a petri-dish! Once completed, the petri dishes will all be hung together off a 'mother-ship' tree branch forming the large scale mobile, Natura Petri - reflections of the beauty in the natural world around us, this will then be on short term exhibition for the public to enjoy.

Experienced Artist Cassie Thring will lead the workshops assisted by Nicholaus Hanisch and Annelise Forster.

All materials will be supplied, however participants are welcome to bring their own materials if they wish. If so, please ensure any materials you bring are small enough to fit in a 90mm petri-dish frame, and that you are happy to donate them. Consider what you find exquisite in nature, it may be a perfectly intact leaf skeleton, colourful feathers, seed pods, textured grasses - or your own creative reflection of nature, such as a sketch, an embroidery, something hand-crafted, a poem, anything about nature.

Why not make this a fun School Holiday outing to enjoy with your grandchildren? You could even take a walk together in nature before your session and source your very own piece of nature to include or simply for some inspiration!

For people aged 50 and over and their friends and family.
